City Circle is very excited about our upcoming season. Our first BIG show in our new Theatre has already been announced, but we would like to hear from theatre-loving leaders: ie. Directors!!! We are still looking for a big musical and a comedic play to round up our season and would love to hear your ideas.  Reception for New Managing Director http://www.citycircle.org/news.html#recept

The City of Coralville will host a reception for Megan Flanagan, new Managing Director for the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, March 8, 4:30-6:30 p.m. The reception will be held in Meeting Room A in the lower level of the Coralville Public Library. During the reception, small group tours will be given of the theater construction site. Tours will leave from Meeting Room A at the library. For more information, call 248.1750.

 Auditions for West Side Story http://www.citycircle.org/auditions.html#wss

City Circle Acting Company will hold auditions for our summer youth musical, West Side Story. Those who have completed grade 7 through graduating seniors are eligible to audition. You will be asked to sing a prepared song, perform a dance auditon, and participate in a reading from the script. The song may be from the show, and an accompanist will be provided. We will be casting about 30-35 people.

Principal roles:
Maria..........soprano
Tony..........tenor
Riff............high baritone
Anita..........mezzo soprano
Bernardo.....high baritone

In addition to principal roles, there are several choice supporting roles.

The stage director is Michael Stokes. The musical director is Ed Kottick with a 28 piece orchestra. Dance numbers will be choreographed by Leslie Nolte.

Auditions will be held on April 11th at 7:00 pm, and April 12th at 7:30 pm at the Community of Christ Church, 2121 South Ridge Drive, Coralville, Iowa. Call backs will be held on April 13th.

West Side Story will be peformed at the Englert Theater, June 17th, 18th, and 19th, 7:30 pm on Friday and Saturday and 2:00 pm on Sunday.

This production is the fifth summer musical featuring local Junior and Senior High School Students.
